Fisher Honored for Design Work
The AIA Westchester/Mid-Hudson chapter of the American Institute of Architects recently presented the firm of Earl Everett Ferguson Architect and its client, Eileen Fisher, with a High Honors Award at its 2009 Design Awards Program and Celebration of Architecture Gala.
The Awards Program honors projects that have made a positive aesthetic and social contribution to the built environment while increasing public awareness and appreciation for architectural design.
The honor given to Fisher encompassed two locations, including the expansion of offices in Irvington, which occupy a rehabilitated greenhouse factory built in 1902 on the shores of the Hudson River.
It is an honor to know Eileen and Earl. Not only is Eileen a designer who creates garments that are lovely, long lasting, and comfortable - she is also a truly altruistic person. If you go the the Eileen Fisher Lab in Irvington you can purchase samples, current season, or recycled clothes. The recycled section (great deals!) founds the Eileen Fisher Foundation the main goal of which is to support girls and woman. We are the grateful recipients of her generosity. Sleepy Hollow Performing Artists is a vibrant community of artists with a home on at 362 N. Broadway in Sleepy Hollow. Following a devastating fire 3 years ago Eileen and Earl both made sure that we would know that we would have a home to continue our work. Earl has designed spaces for us and Eileen has been an unsung hero to us.
If you ever have been into her offices or stores you will experience a sense of well being and peace. They are two artists and angels in our community.
