Dolores Siebrecht, 78
Dolores “Dolly” Siebrecht, a former Tarrytown resident and owner of Alma Snape Flowers, died January 15. She was 78.
Born in Tarrytown on March 26, 1931, she married Irving Siebrecht in 1950 in the Second Reformed Church. For 41 years, they owned and operated the flower shop.
Antonio Armesto, 85
Antonio Armesto, a resident of Tarrytown, died January 13. He was 85.
Mr. Armesto was born in Brooklyn and grew up in Spain. He moved back to the United States in 1956. He was a self employed cabinet maker and owned Armesto Millwork in Yonkers.

Joseph Velba, 54
Joseph J. Velba, a longtime resident of Tarrytown, died January 15. He was 54.
Mr. Velba was born in Tarrytown and recently was living in Mohegan Lake. He worked as a mechanic.
Manuel Cappello, 81
Manuel “Manny” Cappello, a lifelong resident of North Tarrytown, died December 28, 2009. He was 81.
Mr. Cappello served in the United States Army in Korea. He worked for many years for Howard Holmes Water Conditioning in Elmsford before working for the Water Department in Tarrytown. He was a member of Union Hose Engine Company of the Sleepy Hollow Fire Department and an associate member of Phoenix House of the Tarrytown Fire Department.
He was also a member of the Sleepy Hollow Seniors and will be remembered for cooking for various organizations in the Tarrytowns.
C. Stephen Gilbert, 59
C. Stephen Gilbert, a resident of Tarrytown and self employed architect, died January 9. He was 59.
Mr. Gilbert grew up in Tarrytown and was a graduate of Sleepy Hollow High School. He went on to graduate from Rice University in Houston, Texas and earned a Master’s degree in architecture and urban planning from Princeton University.
Mary Joan Kopcinski, 79
Mary Joan Kopcinski, a resident of Sleepy Hollow, died January 12. She was 79.
She worked as a bookkeeper for Gristede’s in Irvington. She was a loyal supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
She is survived by two daughters, including Laura Capossela of Sleepy Hollow, and five grandchildren.
Florence Lester, 76
Florence J. Lester, a longtime Tarrytown resident, died December 27, 2009. She was 76.
In 1955, she married Frank S. Lester in St. Teresa of Avila Church in North Tarrytown. She helped her husband with his air conditioning and heating business and later worked the switchboard at Westchester Medical Center. She was a member of the Tarrytown Seniors and the Transfiguration Seniors.
Donald Brown, 81
Donald F. Brown, a resident of Sleepy Hollow, died December 18, 2009 at his longtime home in the Van Tassel Apartments. He was 81.
One of 19 children, Mr. Brown was an avid outdoorsman who was employed as a gardener and driver. He served in the United States Army in the Korean War and was a member of the VFW. He was known as “Papa” to his six grandchildren.
Madeline Ippolito, 79
Madeline Ippolito, a lifelong resident of Sleepy Hollow, died December 19, 2009. She was 79.
She was born in North Tarrytown. Her greatest joy was spending time with her many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Alan Cohen, 49
Alan Cohen, a resident of Irvington, died December 30, 2009. He was 49.
He was the beloved husband of Judy, and the loving father of Wendy, a seventh grader at Irvington Middle School, and Maddy.
Florence Friedlander, 82
Florence Friedlander, a resident of Tarrytown, died January 18. She was 82.
One of eight children, she fell in love with education, became a community superintendent of District 29 in the Bronx and never stopped teaching.

Anne Bellantoni, 89
Anne Bellantoni, a 65-year resident of Tarrytown, died January 23. She was 89.
Mrs. Bellantoni was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church, and a member of the Tarrytown Seniors, the Senior Canteen of the Neighborhood House and Transfiguration Seniors. She was a fantastic baker who enjoyed baking for family, friends and organizations.
Among survivors are 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
