Chamber of Commerce Taps Variety of Honorees
An expanding pharmaceutical company, two Mexican restaurants, an insurance agency executive, and a charitable organization will be honored at the Sleepy Hollow Tarrytown Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Breakfast March 18 at Tappan Hill.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Hudson Valley will be recognized as the Chamber’s “Organization of the Year” at the event. The charitable organization is dedicated to “grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.”
Linda Rey, of the Rey Insurance Agency in Sleepy Hollow, will receive the award as “Outstanding Member of the Year.” Rey previously has been honored by the Westchester Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the American Association of University Women Westchester.
Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, headquartered at the Landmark at Eastview, will receive honors as “The New Member of the Year.” Earlier this year, the company, which “discovers, develops and commercializes medicines for the treatment of serious medical conditions,” announced it was initiating a $50 million expansion project that would create 300 new jobs.
The Santa Fe Restaurant in Tarrytown gets the nod as “Restaurant of the Year,” while “The President’s Award” will go to the Sleepy Hollow restaurant Que Chula Puebla. Both serve authentic Mexican dishes.
Tickets costing $50 for the breakfast may be obtained at the Chamber of Commerce office, 54 Main Street in Tarrytown.
